User's Question

Hello doctor, I am 20 year old alone child of my parent, studying BCA. I don't have very good memory of my childhood, or whatever time I spent with my parents. My parents never realized that whatever words  they said to me, I still remember. Still I feel very upset. I was never allowed to do mistakes. their expectations with me were very high. When I was in 8th standard, I got selected for navodaya school and then onward I started living hostel life.
In hostel all are eagerly waiting for holidays to go to meet their family. I don't get that kind of feeling. May be I am little bit different from others, or I am less sensitive, also these feelings I can't express to anyone. How can I overcome these kind of guilt feelings, and live a healthy life?

After reading your matter, I feel you can have a talk with your parents on this. It seems that you are not that close to your parents, but this cannot make you feel guilty. So, try and talk to them; open up..make your communication effective slowly. There is no guilt here. Every person is different. Firstly, stop judging yourself and stop comparing yourself. Talk it out with your parents. There is always a solution in communication. All the very best!!
