Why are criminals not afraid of the government?

We see that criminals keep on committing crimes knowing well aware of what is legal and what isn't. They are not at all scared of the police or the consequences. Why is this, why aren't criminals scared of the justice system? Is our government faulty?

Hope you doing well.  Your concern is relevant. I will say that yes, Indian judicial system has a big loop hole and is faulty. Our judicial system take a lot of time to give the verdict towards criminal that they become fearless and keeps on committing other crimes. It takes years on years to get the final verdict, which somehow make the criminal less worrisome and motivates him to do more crime. On the other hand, the victim suffers as he don,t get the justice and this increases his pain and waste his time. Sometimes it took around 10 years to solve a case and the criminals remain free on bail and can commit more crime. So our system is the main reason for the fearless attitude of the criminals.

Policemen also settles the case through bribery which motivates the criminal to continue doing because they think that if they get caught, they will bribe the cops and will get free. So the faulty system and corruption are causes of rises in crime rates in our nation.

Hey there.I hope you are doing well.

With the recent turmoil that have prevailed in the country for quite a while, not you or me but majority of the citizens have started losing faith in the judicial system and government of the country. See,looking at things from the criminal point of view we can really determine the psyche of the crime and criminal. They are normal humans like us who develop major neurotic illness or psychological problems which lead them to engage in illegal and irrational behaviour which thereby makes them criminals. Also,in India, the judicial system is so impractical and so out-dated that crimes seem to be piling up to impossible amount and then the crimminals are roaming about freely. The problem might be that the present administration is so busy in filling their pockets that they seem to have forgotten the true purpose of their job, that being, welfare of the state. They do not put any pressure and are instead themselves in good terms with criminals for vote bank policies that they suppress their crimes. Also, the crime rates have increased so much that punishments and verdict are taking up decades which give sufficient time to criminals to escape.
