It is a natural concern you have as a parent. Right now, what is required is to draw out of the fact that he has a mental health problem, and think what you would do if he didn't have it. What do most people do with their children in order to make sure that they are safe and happy after the parents die? they educate their children and teach them good ways to live, thereby fostering independence and good values, and they also teach them how to maintain good relations so that the child can have a loving relationship with somone, some friends and good relations in society. If these are your aims, how can you act? May be get a career test and find out a career that suits his special needs. Work on his relationhsip competency in counseling. Start some savings account for him and encourage him to both save and invest. Do what you would do for any child of yours: make sure he can live on his own later.
