Why am I more depressed and anxious couple of hours after exercise?

  • One can hear it everywhere. Exercise is supposed to make you feel better. Not in my case. We are talking about physical symptoms (anxious feeling in belly, sleep maintenance insomnia), not wrong thought patterns. Before treated with Luvox it used to cause 9-hour long panic attacks at night. NAC as adjunctive therapy helps a lot too, coupled with Abilify. I am simply curious about mechanism of action. What is going on here?

    Exercise with positive attitude makes you feel better. At the same time, if you are already anxious and negative while doing exercise, naturally you are disturbing the serotonin levels of your brain. Be positive and happy while exercising. I hope you know what is anxiety and other aspects of anxiety. Still I suggest psycho education for easy cure. Take care

    Hello and thanks for an answer, doctor. I have always exercised with a positive mindset - i love it and the said exercise was not even strenuous. Still, I would get sick.
