How to stop kids from watching horror movies?

My kids like to watch horror movies. Whenever these kinds of movies come on screen they try somehow to watch these movies.

After watching these movies they experience negative effects like trouble falling asleep, fear of the dark, nightmares, anxiety, increased concerns about possible dangers that can befall them.

These negative effects sometimes last days or weeks.

My main concern is how I stop my kids from watching horror movies and their side effects.

Don't let them watch horror movies before they are going to sleep. I would rather prefer, if they want to watch let them watch in day time!

It is true. My daughter loves to be scared. She loves roller coasters, getting up and singing on stage in front of hundreds of people, and she loves when I tell her horror stories — the type you would tell around an adult campfire. What can I say? My daughter is odd. But the best kind of odd, in my opinion. She loves magic, vampires, wizards, ghosts and…horror movies. how to stop watching ......pls help

if you do want to stop them, do not watch such movies yourself. I mean, if the television won't be on with such shows, they won't know, that horror movies up coming up. however, there is no harm if they are actually watching it even. I have been and continue to be a horror lover, what attracts us is the thrill, the adventure involved in escaping from an evil power onscreen, we are always excited to see how good overpowers and the victim is freed from evil, it gives us a mental satisfaction, and the total process keeps us on the edge, and the tension, 'what will happen next' draws us to such movies. well the after effects of horror movies may be detrimental for some, but do not worry, the fear or anxiety that they are going through is somewhat good, it will help them realize that life is not a bed of roses and they will learn to fight the fears themselves and evolve. the more you stop them from watching, the more curious they will be towards it. Let them face it to fight it.
